Ariff presently serves as the Director of Investments at Khazanah Nasional Berhad. With an extensive background spanning 18 years in corporate and investment banking, he has held various roles in different organizations. Ariff notably served as the Director and Head of Public Sector at Citibank Berhad Malaysia for almost a decade, overseeing the portfolios of key Malaysian GLCs. In 2023, he transitioned to a government and policy advisory role.
Commencing his career in Equity Capital Markets at CIMB Investment Bank, Ariff subsequently joined AmResearch as a Research Analyst, focusing on the transportation sector. His professional journey continued with roles at Maybank Investment Bank and BNP Paribas, Malaysia, where he served as Vice President in the Corporate and Investment Banking Division.
Ariff holds a Master’s Degree in Financial Decision Analysis from the University of Portsmouth and a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Central Lancashire. A participant in the Global Banking Leaders Programme by the Bayes Business School, University of London, he is recognized as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
